Volunteers
We love our volunteers! For many years a small and dedicated group of volunteers have helped to keep the nursery looking good. In return for their hard work they learn new skills and get a small discount off any plants they buy.
Friendships have been forged and a good time had by all!
"I've loved volunteering. I've made new friends and I've got an understanding of looking after plants. It also helped me at a difficult time"
Wednesday is Volunteer Day - an opportunity to be with other people interested in gardening
whilst participating in a range of gardening activities.
Whether you're a new or experienced gardener you will be warmly welcomed.
Tools will be provided but please bring your own gloves and wear appropriate footwear.
There is plenty of car parking, a cafe on site and toilet facilities.
Maintaining the display beds at the nursery will provide opportunities to learn about plants and planting. You'll learn about soil health, propagation and much more.
Just spending time at the nursery will broaden your plant knowledge.
To say thank you for your hard work you'll receive 10% discount off any plants you buy from the nursery and be able to take some seed and cuttings from nursery stock plants.
Volunteer days will start at 10.00. It helps if everyone arrives at a similar time so that tasks can be explained and allocated. You can leave when you want to - most volunteers stay until around 14.00.
Please be aware that the nursery will be open to the public for plant sales on Wednesdays
