• Beaux Arts, Musical Instrument making and a plant sale!

It's been a busy few days here at The Coastal Gardener. Last Saurday was the Preview of this year's Beaux Arts exhibition at Bembridge Village Hall. I was delighted to have the opportunity to show some seed head mobiles, cane toppers, sculptures and planted colanders alongside wonderful artworks by Judes Crow, Celia Wilkinson, Holly Maslen and other Island artists. Tomorrow I'll be running our penultimate On The Beach session at Tackt-Isle Adventures. We'll be making musical instruments from objects slavaged from the beach and may even put together a short musical performance! On Thursday I'll be selling coastal plants at Northclose Cottage, Northclose Road in Bembridge. the event has been organised by the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and Dementia UK to raise awareness, and funds, for both charities. With a Champagne Bar, tea, cakes, jewellery children's books and more it promises to be a fun event. The sale runs from 10am to 5pm, parking is very limited but it's only a short walk from Forelands Rd.
