It's a year since we relocated the Coastal Gardener Nursery to Fakenham Farm in St Helens on
the Isle of Wight. We love being at the farm and are looking forward to welcoming more visitors
to the nursery during 2017. We propagate almost all the plants we sell. Many are sown from
seed collected at the nursery and from cuttings taken from our stock plants.
The raised beds we planted last year have been a great success. You can see nearly all the
plants we have for sale in their full glory and can see which plants look good together.
This year we'll be adding to our collection of sculptures and artefacts sited around
the nursery. We're also developing our sales area with improved signage and more
information and inspiration.
We've got lots of exciting events and activities scheduled for this year, including a fundrasing day
for Dementia UK on July 2nd and Willow Plant Support workshops in May. Our
Coastal Gardening workshop will be featured in Coast Magazine and we'll be repeating the course
on 24th June. Every Thursday from 2pm we'll be giving a free talk and demonstration; topics
will include everything from sowing seed to pruning. Please visit the events page to find out more.
The nursery is open from 10am until 4pm, Thursday to Sunday, mid-March to mid-October.
We welcome group visits to the nursery. If you'd like to visit as a group or to talk to us about your
garden please contact Gerry or call 07977 550050.
